WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Growth Energy Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Chris Bliley delivered keynote remarks at the 40th annual International Fuel Ethanol Workshop (FEW). Bliley emphasized the importance of the liquid fuel market in meeting carbon reduction goals and spoke on the bioethanol industry’s pivotal role in growing the broader American bioeconomy.
“If you look around at the industry today, there are objectively good reasons to be bullish about our future,” Bliley told the FEW crowd. “We’re in a world where carbon reductions and business growth are intertwined—a world where markets are gaining value from the reduction of carbon pollution. As a result, virtually every industry on the planet is facing this imperative to lower their carbon intensity.”
“But the good news is that bioethanol is already a low-carbon fuel—period,” he added. “We are made for this moment.”
Bliley told FEW about the industry’s outlook on this year’s upcoming elections, highlighting the fact that support for bioethanol comes from both Republicans and Democrats.
“Our industry’s greatest strength is our bipartisan appeal. We’re American-made and low-carbon. We support job security for American workers and energy security for American consumers. We can bring down the price at the pump and the environmental impact of our cars and trucks,” Bliley said. “We have a big election coming in November, but no matter the outcome, we are positioned for success.”
The 40th annual FEW is being held June 10-12 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It’s the largest, longest-running ethanol conference in the world and a premiere forum for showcasing the power of biofuels and unveiling new innovations and research.
