Mark Marquis

Darrell L. “Mark” Marquis is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Marquis. Over the last four decades, Mark has founded and led several successful businesses across the various energy and agriculture sectors. In 2005 Mark co-founded Marquis Energy, which doubled capacity in 2016, making it the largest dry-grind ethanol facility in the world. His vast experience in grain procurement, risk management, logistics, trucking, rail, barge, construction, and project financing played a vital role in the development of the Marquis Industrial Complex. Mark has served on the board of directors of Growth Energy since 2010, the world’s largest non-profit association dedicated to advocacy on behalf of biofuel producers and supporters. Mark believes in the immense power of ethanol and its current and future role in creating a sustainable world for generations to come. He takes pride in investing in local communities through academic and outreach programs – with an eye on making the world a better place.

Mark grew up in Kewanee, Illinois. He is a certified flight instructor and helicopter pilot. In his free time, Mark enjoys aviation and traveling internationally for business and adventure.
